Cedar and Ruby Health Alliance (CRHA) recently organized a free health screening outreach in Ibesikpo as part of its continuous efforts to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases in Nigeria.
The outreach provided residents with free blood pressure, blood sugar, and BMI checks, alongside personalized medical advice from healthcare professionals. The initiative focused on raising awareness about hypertension and diabetes, two silent killers that contribute to strokes and heart attacks if left untreated.
Over 300 individuals were screened, and many received early warnings about their health status. Participants were also educated on healthy diets, exercise, stress management, and routine check-ups as ways to prevent long-term complications.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Okon Akpan, expressed his gratitude:
“I never knew I had high blood pressure until today. Thanks to CRHA, I can now take steps to manage my health and avoid future problems.”
CRHA emphasized that preventive healthcare is more cost-effective than treatment and urged Nigerians to take advantage of similar programs whenever available.
