Earlier today, in the spirit of Palm Sunday, Cedar and Ruby Health Alliance took a significant step forward in our mission to foster wellness and prevention. We were honored to partner with Gateway Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, to host a free community medical screening event dedicated to heart and metabolic health.
Why Community Screening Matters
At Cedar and Ruby, we believe that the first step toward a healthier life is knowledge. These screenings provide a vital opportunity for individuals to understand their current health status, identify potential risks early, and take proactive steps toward long-term prevention.
Our mission is clear: we are committed to combating cardiovascular and metabolic diseases through direct community action, nutritional education, and consistent advocacy.
The Impact: By the Numbers
The turnout today was a testament to the community’s desire for better health. During the outreach:
35 participants received comprehensive screenings.
Tests included Blood Pressure and Glucose (Blood Sugar) monitoring.
Attendees received personalized insights on diet and lifestyle adjustments.
By bringing these services directly to where people gather—like Gateway Church—we break down the barriers to healthcare access and empower individuals to take control of their well-being.
Our Growing Mission
This event is just one part of our larger goal to build healthy communities together. Whether through education on balanced diets or advocating for better health resources, we remain dedicated to the residents of Shreveport and beyond.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the leadership at Gateway Church and all the volunteers who made this morning a success.
